Critical Black Studies Summer Institute

conference-slideshowThe Critical Black Studies Summer Institute -facilitated and organized by the Anti Black-Racism Network and the Akua Benjamin Legacy Project provides Black students with an opportunity to engage in critical race, anti-Black racism and social justice education, and develop skills and knowledge to put that learning into action. The summer program is a non-credit, non-certificate program that offers workshops and community based lectures to help Black students shape, share and build their knowledge on issues central to the Black community and the Black experience in Canada.

The Critical Black Studies Summer Institute will be accepting 20 self -identified individuals who represent a diversity of Black identities and with a strong interest in learning, engaging and building Black leadership.

How to Apply:

  • Contact the Anti-Black Racism Network at abrn@ryerson.ca by the deadline date of June 24th 2016
  • In your email, please include a statement of interest and background working in the Black community
  • As well please let us know if we need to make any accessibility or dietary accommodations
